All Sales Are Final — No Refunds

DearFutures operates under a strict No Regrets policy. Once you complete payment and schedule a postcard for delivery, no refunds, returns, cancellations, or credits will be issued under any circumstances. This policy is fundamental to our service and is agreed to before every purchase.

Why We Don’t Offer Refunds

DearFutures is built on a simple but powerful idea: your words matter exactly as they are, in the moment you write them. Our No Regrets policy exists for important reasons:

  • Authenticity: We believe in capturing genuine emotions. The ability to cancel or undo would undermine the courage it takes to express yourself honestly.
  • Commitment: Scheduling a postcard is a meaningful act. Like mailing a physical letter, once it leaves your hands, it’s on its way. This permanence gives your words weight and significance.
  • Long-term storage: Your postcard is immediately encrypted and stored in our secure database for delivery — potentially years from now. The infrastructure costs for preserving your message over time begin the moment you schedule it.
  • Delivery preparation: Our system begins processing your postcard immediately upon scheduling, including confirmation emails, database storage, and delivery queue setup.

What Cannot Be Refunded

  • Scheduled postcards, regardless of delivery date (even if years away)
  • Postcards where you made a typo or error in the message
  • Postcards sent to the wrong recipient email address
  • Postcards where you changed your mind after scheduling
  • Postcards where the relationship with the recipient has changed
  • Duplicate purchases made by accident
  • Postcards that have already been delivered
  • Any other reason, without exception

What Cannot Be Changed After Purchase

Once you schedule a postcard, the following are permanently locked:

  • The message content and calligraphy style
  • The postcard template
  • The recipient’s name and email address
  • The delivery date and time
  • The postmark location
  • Any attached audio message
  • The sender’s information

Before You Purchase

We strongly encourage you to:

  • Double-check your message for typos and content you’re comfortable sending.
  • Verify the recipient’s email address is correct and active.
  • Confirm the delivery date is exactly when you want the postcard to arrive.
  • Review the postmark location and template choice.
  • Be certain about your decision. Ask yourself: “Will I be comfortable with this message being delivered, no matter what happens between now and then?”

The review step (Step 5) exists specifically so you can verify every detail before committing. Take your time on that step.

Delivery Failures

In the rare event that we are unable to deliver your postcard due to a technical failure on our end (not due to an invalid recipient address you provided), we will:

  • Attempt redelivery multiple times
  • Notify you of the delivery status
  • Make every reasonable effort to fulfill the delivery

However, even in cases of delivery failure, no refunds will be issued. The payment covers the scheduling, storage, and attempted delivery of your postcard.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. DearFutures does not store your credit card information. A receipt is sent to your email immediately after payment. For payment-related inquiries (such as unauthorized charges on your card), please contact your bank or card issuer directly.

Chargebacks & Disputes

By using DearFutures and completing a purchase, you agree that you will not file a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or credit card company for any completed transaction. Our No Refund policy is clearly stated before purchase, and you must agree to our Terms of Service (including the No Cancellation, No Edits, No Refunds clause) before completing any payment.
